Our Beijing office, opened in 1999, offers international and local clients access to one of the leading capital markets/M&A teams in mainland China, and a China investment team that advises foreign clients on China investments and Chinese state-owned enterprises and corporates on outbound M&A. We also have an on-the-ground dispute resolution team offering international dispute resolution and arbitration services in China.
We have forged strong relationships with central and regional government authorities, state-owned enterprises and regulators. Our team provides UK, US and Hong Kong law advice with the capacity to negotiate, draft and produce documentation in English and Chinese. We regularly work with our Hong Kong and Shanghai colleagues and across the network to provide seamless cross-border assistance.

Our Beijing office is located in the China World Trade Tower, at the heart of the Chaoyang District complex. Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and Heaven Temple are all within 15 minutes’ drive.
Our Beijing team has a particular focus on the following:
Beijing offers many different types of cuisine and restaurant, including Hard Rock Cafe and TGI Friday's. You will find a good selection of bars, cafes and clubs in Chaoyang District.
There are several fitness centres near the office. These offer large multi-gym facilities and short-term membership or day passes at reasonable prices.
Over Christmas and Lunar New Year we organise sporting events, such as badminton, and other activities, including dinner parties and karaoke. During the year, we lay on excursions to the Botanical Gardens and Inner Mongolia. We also arrange hiking trips with clients, including visits to the Great Wall.
Every few months, the Beijing Foreign Enterprise Service Corp, a staff union for all foreign enterprises in Beijing, organises a variety of outings, including camping and rafting, for Chinese staff working in foreign companies.
As a global organisation we support opportunities for our lawyers to spend time in other offices within our network. Fostering our 'one firm' culture, international secondments are a key way in which we share our expertise, enrich experiences and broaden horizons.
Opportunities to spend time at a client working within their in-house legal team are also common.
