Working in Moscow

The office, which opened in 1999, deals with a mix of Russian and English law-related work on behalf of Russian and international clients. Key areas of expertise include corporate, finance and banking, projects and project financing, capital markets, tax, dispute resolution, real estate, and restructuring and insolvency.

The working atmosphere is exceptionally friendly and supportive. Russian clients tend to expect a greater level of personal care and attention from their professional advisors, who must display not only technical expertise but stamina.

Living in Moscow is similar to living in any large European city, except the weather can be freezing. That said, buildings are well heated and winter clothes are widely available and cheap. The public transport system is good, and the Metro – with its Soviet mosaics and sculptures – is particularly impressive.

Given the rigidity and complicity of the Russian financial market, Moscow is dynamic and exciting place to work and live, offering cutting-edge deals and a highly sophisticated cultural and social environment.

Benefits vary depending on your role with the firm, but can include participation in the bonus scheme, medical insurance, life assurance and free lunch in the office.

Global Mobility and Client Secondments

As a global organisation we support opportunities for our lawyers to spend time in other offices within our network. Fostering our 'one firm' culture, international secondments are a key way in which we share our expertise, enrich experiences and broaden horizons.

Opportunities to spend time at a client working within their in-house legal team are also common.
