The Opportunity
The role: Kitchen Hand
We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Hand to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering excellent service and maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment.
Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for:
Physical set up and operation of the wash up area and thorough clean down area at the end of shift
Ensuring all kitchen equipment, dishes, cutlery and glasses are cleaned to HACCP standards and are returned, dry and stacked in appropriate order and locations throughout the kitchen, storage areas and meeting rooms
Assisting chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation
Performing basic kitchen tasks such as peeling, cutting, and washing vegetables
Handling and storing food items properly to maintain freshness and prevent contamination
Following health and safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
Assisting in the setup and breakdown of buffets and equipment
Receiving and checking deliveries, ensuring items are stored correctly
Working collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operation during service
Providing support to all the Client Services team when required i.e. room set ups
Complying with WHS obligations and responsibilities in accordance with the requirements for this role as set out in legislation and the firms' policies and procedures.
To be successful in this position you will have:
Good organisational skills
Basic food handling / hygiene training or knowledge of
Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is preferred – or be eager to train
Quick turnaround time
Good communication skills
Vast knowledge of food preparation
Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene and safety standards
Neatly presented with uniform well laundered
