This open day was created to provide socially mobile students and graduates the opportunity to gain a deeper insight into the ground-breaking work we do as a firm. You’ll find out about our Social Mobility Network and make valuable connections with our trainees and associates. Applications close on 7 September 2023.

Everyone deserves to have an equal chance at achieving their dream career. This open day will show you how our inclusive culture will support you to reach your goals and what Herbert Smith Freehills can offer you. During the event, you’ll hear about the work we do and our Black Talent initiatives. We'll share our expert advice on how to best prepare for the application and assessment process and you'll get a real insight into what it’s like here as you meet Trainees and Associates from across the firm. Intellectual property, and cyber and technology
STEM and computer science degrees are increasingly valuable to the legal profession. If you’re studying science, technology, medicine, electronics, maths, computer science or a cyber subject, our open day is a great insight into the cutting-edge work you could do as a scientific or technology-qualified lawyer. You’ll receive an introduction to IP law and hear case studies on everything from software misuse to cyber disasters. Applications open in September 2023.
MyPlus open day Are you a high-performing student with a disability* and/or long-term health condition? Our MyPlus Students’ Club open day is for you. Hear from HSF lawyers with a disability who have achieved success and delivered ground-breaking work and find out about the accommodations and support networks on offer. Applications open in September 2023.

LGBT+ open day We’ve always prided ourselves on a warm, inclusive culture at HSF. If you’re an LGBT+ student considering a career in the legal profession, our IRIS (Inclusion, Respecting Identity and Sexuality) Network open day is for you. You’ll hear from trainees and associates who identify as LGBT+ and find out about the support and development opportunities on offer. You’ll also meet members of the IRIS network, who are doing vital work to make law a safe space for all and supporting LGBT inclusion across our firm. Applications open in September 2023.
Digital open day Interested in how digital change is transforming the role of the lawyer?

Technology and data are reshaping the world. As our clients look to benefit from the opportunities brought about by digital change, the work we do as lawyers - and the way we work - are changing too. Our digital open day will show you how lawyers across our practices are advising the most innovative clients on matters like crypto and the metaverse. You will also find out how we are transforming legal practice by developing cutting-edge legal technologies like artificial intelligence and smart legal contracts.

Disputes open day HSF has a reputation for excellence when it comes to global dispute resolution. At this dedicated open day, you’ll get exclusive insights into some of our most famous litigation and international arbitration cases and successes. You’ll also network with partners, associates and trainees, who will share their experiences of life at our firm. Applications open in September 2023.
