About the virtual internship
Our virtual internship is a chance to develop legal skills and knowledge from the comfort of your home. Created in partnership with Forage, this multi-module course spans key areas of law and offers insight into the kind of work you might take on at HSF. We recommend setting 7-9 hours aside to complete each module.
International mergers
What does it take to work on a real-world project for our corporate team? In this module, you’ll develop skills in legal drafting, critical thinking, attention to detail, commercial awareness, research and presentation.
Global litigation
Our global disputes team work across a range of sectors to provide business-critical advice to our clients. In this module, you’ll develop cutting-edge commercial insight as you learn about the individual steps involved in dispute resolution. By completion, you’ll have put your skills to the test in a mock business development challenge.
Digital law group Learn about the future of law from our specialist team of coders, researchers and writers. Across this module, you’ll hear from the Digital Law Group on how they help clients solve ground-breaking cases, including disputes related to the metaverse and cryptocurrency. You’ll also discover how technology is changing how we work, with the introduction of smart legal contracts and more.
Financial services regulatory
In the financial services regulatory module, you’ll grapple with the technical problems we face daily. What should you do when notifying regulators? How can you prepare a client for regulatory interventions? How can lawyers and clients work together to commercially approach a market? By the completion of the course, you’ll have a thorough understanding of this complex area.
Solicitor Apprentice job simulation During this programme, you will have the opportunity to step into the shoes of a Herbert Smith Freehills team member and complete tasks that replicate the work that a solicitor apprentice does every day. You’ll learn key skills in legal research, critical analysis, legal writing, and professional communication.
