Working in Jakarta

As the economic and political capital of Indonesia, Jakarta has a cosmopolitan atmosphere and a diverse culture. Many individuals choose to live in South Jakarta, which is cooler than other areas and has good cafes and supermarkets that stock a wide range of international food.

There are a number of well-known Indonesian restaurants and luxury business hotels near the office, which makes it easy to meet up with clients and friends for work and social events.

HBT has an ongoing commitment to training for both lawyers and staff. Weekly professional development training, including English language classes, are organised to improve the knowledge and skills of all staff.

A very close-knit group, the team at HBT works and plays hard together. Each year, the firm organises trips out of Jakarta for all employees and their families to a variety of holiday destinations, including Singapore, Bali, Puncak, and Bandung.

Global Mobility and Client Secondments

As a global organisation we support opportunities for our lawyers to spend time in other offices within our network. Fostering our 'one firm' culture, international secondments are a key way in which we share our expertise, enrich experiences and broaden horizons.

Opportunities to spend time at a client working within their in-house legal team are also common.

A number of our lawyers are on full-time secondments at HBT.
