Working in Hong Kong

If you need to unwind after a hard day’s work, you will find an excellent selection of restaurants and bars just a few minutes from the office in famous Lan Kwai Fong (LFF).

The social scene at our Hong Kong office is particularly active, with the Social Committee organising a range of events. These might include night-time horseracing at the world-famous Happy Valley racecourse, paint-balling or weekend barbecues. There are also a number of major social occasions in the calendar, such as the dragon boat festival in June, five-a-side football tournament and the Christmas party in December. A range of sports clubs, including basketball, rugby and running, are keen to encourage new members to participate in the many local competitions.

The office has a thriving Community Action Programme, with staff members encouraged to take an active role. The programme includes tutoring and mentoring at the John F Kennedy Centre, a residential and day school for handicapped children. Other annual charity events include the Turtle Beach Clean-up, Matilda Sedan Chair Race, Inter-Law Firm Tug-o-war and the Community Chest series of sponsored runs.

Transport links, including the Star Ferry, MTR (Hong Kong’s railway system), Airport Express and the bus station are all within easy reach of the office, making getting around very easy.

Global Mobility and Client Secondments

As a global organisation we support opportunities for our lawyers to spend time in other offices within our network. Fostering our 'one firm' culture, international secondments are a key way in which we share our expertise, enrich experiences and broaden horizons.

Opportunities to spend time at a client working within their in-house legal team are also common.
