When you join Alternative Legal Services, you get so much more than a job – you get all the opportunities you need to grow your career. But that doesn’t all take place in the office – we encourage our people to play hard, as well as work hard.

Working alongside our friendly teams in Belfast, Australia,  London and Shanghai, you’ll focus principally on applying leading technology solutions in support of complex legal matters, often handling large volumes of confidential client data.

We make a significant investment in training to support the professional development of our staff. We look for individuals who share our values of teamwork, commitment, integrity, courtesy and respect. In return, we offer a flexible and friendly work environment, competitive compensation and exposure to award-winning legal work.

eDiscovery in London

We have a team of highly capable lawyers, legal analysts and technologists based across our global Alternative Legal Services business, which was established in April 2011.

Initially focused on disputes (where documentary analysis is critical to the investigation of matters and cases), in 2012, we expanded our offering to include corporate, funds and real estate work.

Our corporate and funds practices support with due diligence and other aspects of projects/transactions. Our real estate practice conducts asset management and volume portfolio due diligence work.

The eDiscovery team in London is responsible for the provision of client data management products and services to clients of the firm through instructing teams based in the other Practice Groups (most notably Disputes). This includes advising on and assisting with the identification, preservation, collection and processing of client data and managing the electronic data during review and analysis, production and presentation phases. This team is part of a global technology offering which is an important component of our global Alternative Legal Services business

Career opportunities

You may join us as an analyst, bringing your experience and enthusiasm for using technology to securely and sensitively manage large volumes of client data under the guidance of more experienced team members.

Your skills will grow, and as they do you’ll take on wider responsibility for more complex matters. In time, you’ll have the opportunity to share your skills with less experienced team members, and begin to take responsibility for the end-to-end management of work, guided by the instructing teams from our internal clients.

Senior roles exist to lead the team and these will be filled by a blend of home grown talent and externally developed experience.

Depending on our needs at the time, it is possible to join our eDiscovery team at any level.

LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT

We view you as the future leaders of the business, so it goes without saying that your development is incredibly important to us.

As well as getting exposure to a huge breadth of work, you’ll be supported to grow your career and reach your goals with flexible training and development plans. These plans will allow you to gain experience in all areas and help you find what's best for you, personally.

We know that understanding how you're doing is key to your development. That's why we make sure you get regular feedback from the people you work with as you progress through your career. As a legal analyst you will receive continued feedback from either your cluster manager or team leader. In addition, as a trainee you'll have formal mid and end-of-seat performance reviews.
